There will be two audition sessions for all young ladies interested in the 2004-2005 Essence Dance Line. The information is as follows:
Essence Information Session #1 - Wednesday, March 24, 2004 at 7:00 p.m. (CAU Bandroom)
Audition #1 - Saturday, April 3, 2004 beginning at 9:00 a.m. (CAU Epps Gymnasium)
Essence Information Session #2 - Friday, June 11, 2004 at 7:00 p.m. (CAU Bandroom)
Audition #2 - Saturday, June 19, 2004 beginning at 9:00 a.m. (CAU Epps Gymnasium)
Audition Requirements
* Registration Fee - $10.00 (CASH ONLY) - Nonrefundable
* Appearance:
- fitted dance attire to compliment shape
- make-up
- nice, appropriate hairstyle
- overall polished appearance
* Dance resume':
- previous and current dance experience
- ballet, modern and jazz experience preferred
- 1 page
* Photo - full body
- NON-RETURNABLE!!!
- 8 X 10 preferred
- 5 X 7 minimum size
- preferably in dance attire
* GPA Requirement - 2.7
Twirler audition information and requirements are the same as dance audition information and requirements. Twirlers should come with a one (1) minute prepared twirling performance that will show the auditionee at her best.
Should you be unable to attend either session, you may audition via video tape. Video tape auditions are for those who cannot attend live auditions because of travel distance only. The deadline for receiving all video entries is Friday, June 4, 2004. Tape auditions should include:
Two minute routine which displays kicks, leaps, splits and basic Modern, Jazz and Ballet techniques. You may display each of the aforementioned techniques first and then present a prepared two minute routine, if you desire.
